TOTAL BALANCE GROUP PHILOSOPHY
Balance is a difficult thing to achieve. But we’d like you to consider the possibility that once you identify what balance means to you, you can make a significant difference to how much enjoyment you get from your life. Our philosophy is that achieving balance is about taking a holistic approach.

The term balance as we would define it, relates as much to a state of mind as anything else. It isn't necessarily about having equal amounts of time or energy for work and for all of the things you’d like to include in your personal life.

It’s about the sense of inner harmony you feel when things are mostly ‘in sync’ in your life. We say mostly, because one of the things for you to remember is that you don’t need to seek perfection to feel a sense of balance. In fact, giving up perfection is the first and most important step in the process.

To feel that sense of harmony, you need to begin by feeling comfortable to be yourself. To know and understand your personal values and beliefs and to have a clear idea of where you are heading in your life.

For most people, balance means loving your work. Knowing that when you go to work, you’re doing something that is genuinely fulfilling for you.

Balance means connecting with yourself and others in a way that is authentic and honest. Asking for what you want, accepting that your loved ones won't always be able to meet your every need, being willing to forgive and being open to both giving and receiving love. For many people it means giving back to society in some way. Most of us benefit from feeling part of community; from knowing that we belong to something bigger than ourselves.

Living life in a balance way is taking the best possible care of your health – both physically and emotionally.

A balanced state of mind is about accepting life’s challenges as well as life’s joys. It means keeping an open mind and sometimes, letting go of control. It means giving up judgement of yourself and others. Sometimes it’s about embracing change, learning from failure, knowing that you can grow and being willing to strive for something better. As well as learning to accept the way things are, it's also asking 'what can I do to make things better?'.

Balance means expressing yourself creatively. Creativity isn't just about painting or playing music, it's about finding activities that take you out of your comfort zone that allow you to grow and learn – to discover all of the possibilities available to you.

And it means taking the time to stop and smell the roses. We believe there can be too much focus on 'achieving' and not enough on ‘enjoying the journey’.

Once you achieve a state of relative balance, we can pretty much guarantee you, it won't be permanent. Life is ever changing and the scales are easily tipped in one direction or another.

Real balance is about being flexible enough to know when you need to shift your weight to feel steady and sure that you’re still on the right path.

We’re here to support you in creating that balance.

Our philosophy is that life should be lived by the following eight principles:
1. Be yourself
2. Give up perfection
3. Nurture your health
4. Connect with others
5. Keep an open mind
6. Love your work
7. Express yourself creatively
8. Slow down

About our logo:
Enso is Japanese for 'circle'. The hand painted circle is a Zen symbol of enlightenment and of the true nature of existence. When the circle is not perfect it is said that its very imperfections make it a symbol of perfection - it is perfect just as it is.

It is a symbol that combines the visible and the hidden, the simple and the profound, the empty and the full. It is also said to be a circle of infinity, a circle of simplicity, a circle of beginnings and a circle of endings.
